Over time vegetable gardeners start to find all sorts of self-seeding food plants freely pop up throughout the garden. Potatoes are a great self-seeding food crop and are often produced from small produce missed when harvesting the main crop.
Whenever I see a self-seeding potato plant I keep it (usually where it comes up) and although potato plants grown like this don't necessarily produce lots of tubers they still are very much worth it because there's lots you can do with a few and best of all they're free!
