I was taking our dog (Bella) out for a bedtime wee when, as we descended the stairs, I saw a massive and deadly brown snake at the base. Luckily, the dog turned sharply and missed the reptile. As I stopped just a few feet away, Bella turned around and was coming back, so I yelled at her to stay away. Thankfully, the dog obeyed and ran off into the darkness.
